Kim Delaney is an American actress best known for her role as detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she received an Emmy Award. Kim Delaney is known as the Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue. Also, she was a part of the drama series All My Children Philly, CSI: Miami, and Army Wives. As the sole daughter to a senior executive of the United Auto Workers and a housewife, Delaney had a family of four brothers. As a child, Delaney fantasized about becoming a reporter for the court. Her modeling career began in highschool and eventually gained commercial opportunities when she relocated from the south of England to New York. She starred in 1981 as an innocent teenager in All My Children. Delaney appeared in a number of films, television movies and dramatics since then. Similar to her profession, her personal life hasn't been easy or prosperous. The talented actress has struggled with addiction issues in the past as well as two marriages that failed. Her custody in 2005 was confiscated from her.
